Meet Susan Adams
Hello, I am happy to be here. My personal and spiritual journey has a lot to do with my decision to become a psychotherapist. I had a lot of influence from a dad, who was a farmer, electrician, teacher, wanna be minister, and finally, a doctorate in psychology and ultimately a marriage and family therapist. In many ways, I have followed in his path, as he spun my head and peaked my interest in the world of people, behaviors, personalities, and relationships.

So, my journey as a human being which ultimately brought me to my role as a psychotherapist, has had many twists and turns, so many trials and tribulations, and many winding paths and rocky trails. Sometimes the paths were green and lush and fulfilling. Other times the journey was long and arduous and burdensome. And that is what, in my opinion, makes me a good therapist.

I know that each and every one of you has a story. A rich and sometimes bitter history that you have had to endure. But, here you are, looking for a way to find yourself. This is where you have landed, in this moment. I understand how we can get caught up in the past, worry about the future, try to fix what isn't fully understood, and how difficult it can be to take a good look at ourselves, and love us anyway.

So, this journey of self-discovery, as scary as it may seem at first, can also be a delightful, energetic, thought-provoking, vulnerable, incredible, joyful, appreciative life experience...and that is why you don't have to do it alone. In fact, you should not do it alone, as getting lost in the jungle of experiences can be a lot easier with a map and a guide. I am happy to provide you the support, compassion, and professional guidance in helping you find your one and only unique & authentic Self.

I look forward to working with you!
About My Work
My background is diverse and my training is a collection of my professional experiences as I navigated opportunities that led me to entering private practice. I began with my own life experiences, then volunteer work, then my practicums in higher education, and then a series of populations and agencies and clinics. I met many people along the way. But mostly, I learned from my clients. And for that, I am very grateful for every person that I have interacted with, even if it wasn't for long.
